strategic alliance with LSSL. My warmest congratulations to LSSL on this

substantially increasing our customer serviceability in the market place,
taking us closer to consumers and the industry.
Pravin De Silva,
CEO of Lanka Special Steel, said: "We are pleased to enhance our fruitful
partnership with a world leader in steel wiring. This agreement will benefit
our customers in several ways to increase their cost-effectiveness because
materials are readily accessible in Sri Lanka. Throughout the last 16 years,
Lanka SSL has provided its clientele with excellent customer service and
superior products, especially in Sri Lanka's booming construction market,
making it a leader in the industry.
OSL Take: The
entrance of an affiliate of a large Indian company into the Sri Lankan market
would flag the way for other Indian enterprises also to consider forming joint
ventures with Lankan companies. Local companies could exploit this opportunityand penetrate the Indian market. Both Indian and Sri Lankan companies further
benefitted by the free trade agreement (FTA) among the two countries. Hence, it
would be the perfect business partnership that would bring the best returns to
stakeholders.
